Method / provenance lens

Keep the source beside the mark.

The examples are invented. The definitions are attributed. A law, a provider’s coding rule and a research framework answer different questions and should never be substituted for one another.

Three distinct authorities

Illustration 07 / source boundaries
A

Provider coding

Stats Perform’s undated Opta definitions explain how its shot events may be classified and amended. Our attempt marks are Opta-style invented teaching examples, not Opta records or every provider’s denominator.

B

Analysis framework

FIFA Training Centre’s 29 Jul 2024 definitions distinguish possession, out of possession and ball in contest. Our 50-minute window is invented arithmetic, not a universal scoreboard reading.

C

Football law

IFAB’s 2026/27 edition governs the current-law illustrations on sending-off and additional time. Law does not classify provider shot data; this edition is not a claim about an older fixture.

Sources and publication dates for each boundary are listed immediately below. All sources accessed 26 Sep 2026. Recheck undated methods and the applicable law edition before any real-world use.

Recorded

Every number on this site belongs to a labelled fictional set with a stated denominator and period. The four form entries are deliberately selected; the 90-minute attempt record and 50-minute ball window are separate illustrations.

Still unknown

No licensed provider feed, verified fixture, local competition coverage or future result is supplied. A historical claim would need the particular fixture, provider, competition, retrieval time and applicable law edition.
