Conditions / context lens
Ask what surrounded the count.
The same number can sit in different match circumstances. This overlay places questions on the invented extracts; it does not fill missing fields with guesses.
Context overlay
Illustration 05 / questions on the sheetWhen were the attempts?
The 12-attempt set is labelled a fictional 90-minute summary. It does not show score state or an attempt-by-period split. A game-state or match-clock filter would need event-level records.
Which minutes belong here?
The ball exhibit uses 50 fictional observed minutes, not the whole 90-minute attempt summary. Do not align those percentages with all 12 attempts as if the windows matched.
Which entries compare?
The four diary entries mark home/away and fictional competition labels. Opponent quality remains unknown; no strength ranking or Nigerian competition is implied.
Can the extract change?
These are invented examples, not a retrieved feed. In an actual comparison, retain provider, definition, collection time and any later correction before explaining a discrepancy.
Filtering context: Stats Perform, ProVision (undated; accessed 26 Sep 2026), describes game-state, period and match-clock filters. For possible event amendments: Opta Event Definitions (undated). These are provider-method references, not claims of coverage for these fictional entries.
Recorded
Each teaching extract names its own unit and window: attempts over an invented 90-minute record, ball states over a separate fictional 50 minutes, outcomes across four dated fictional matches. Those are distinct denominators.
Still unknown
No shared real match, opponent-strength assessment, score-state sequence or verified retrieval timestamp connects them. Context can direct better questions; it cannot manufacture missing observations.
